Yeah, I'm a bit out of place again. 恩哪，我又火星了，拖了这么久才初初观看冷山，而且这次的观看也还是因为对于Nicole的热潮没有退却。对于这部描写南北战争的片子，我确实百感交集，也难怪它当年曾经叱咤于Oscar。很多地方确实好精致，就如同水晶的不同层面闪烁着耀眼的光芒，你稍稍调转角度就又能欣赏到一个全新的璀璨光华。
◎《Cold Mountain》VS《Gone with the wind》
我喜欢历史，喜欢任何地方的历史，所以我也喜欢研究南北战争。但是对于南北战争的记忆原点却是《飘》——《Gone wiht the wind》。很多时候，人们总是拿这两部作品来做比较，也总是拿艾达和思嘉丽，Nicole和Vivien Leigh（费雯丽）来做比较，可是在我看来，她们的故事虽然都根植于南方，可是却如此的不同。
First of all, the story itself focuses on different things. Cold Mountain is mainly concern about the era, while Gone with the wind is totally a story about the special girl Scarlett. Thus, Cold Mountain shows more storys of the time and in such a mess how people live their lives.
Second, the girls are different. Although they are all well educated southen beauties, they are different in characters. Scarlett is treacherous from her soul, while Ada is gentle and faithful. Though they are all brave with love, but their brave is of different quality. Ada became so brave by the force of difficulty, she had to face the fact that her father was dead and she had no money and skill to maintain her everyday life; while Scarlett has a leadership, with her love to the earth which is coming from her Irish origin, she knows how to manage her fazenda no matter how she would pay for it. That is to say, Scarlett needn't help, she can deal with anything, but if without the help of Ruby, Ada couldn't get out of her chaos and may lose her life already!
Third, about the war. Though both stories happened during the American Civil War, but the way they show the war is different. Cold Mountain shows the war directly, especially from Mr. Inman's view. Gone with the wind uses the war to show how things work on Scarlett, especially when the rhathymia came to an end and all the disasters fall upon her, all in one word, the war in Gone with the wind is just a tool of the writer to show a true Scarlett.
PS, one thing confuse me a lot, the color of the army. I remember that in Gone with the wind, the write told us that the North was in gray and the South was in blue, but when I saw the movie of Cold Mountain, I found that they are on the contrary. I can't tell who's right at all...
Different they are, now's the time to come back to the movie of Cold Mountain.
