It is being reported that in an attempt to avert an actors strike, the Screen Actors Guild says that in the spring they will be willing to begin negotiating with studios.
据报道为了避免演员罢工，演员工会称他们将在春天和制作人们展开谈判。

Unfortunately this is not good enough for members of the New York union board who are requesting for talks to begin within the next month.
不过这对纽约分部的成员来说还算不上是好消息，他们要求在下个月开始谈判。

The current contract is set to expire on June 31, and some members of SAG’s New York board have announced that they have passed a resolution trying to make the guild leadership begin talking by the end of March.
现在的合同将于6月31日到期，演员工会纽约分会的部分成员宣布他们已经通过一项提案敦促工会领导在三月底开始谈判。

Knowing that a strike is a very good possibility, studios are rushing production of movies in an attempt to get as much done before the deadline.
制片人们认为罢工的可能性非常大，所以正在赶制片子，希望在最后期限前完成的工作越多越好。

In other cases, studios are holding off on the beginning of new productions in case they are interupted in the summer by the strike.
另一方面，制片人协会正在推迟新片的日程以免片子到了夏天被罢工中断。

“I see absolutely no value to the members in delaying these talks any longer,” said Sam Freed, the guild's New York president. “We are dealing with serious issues. We should already be at the bargaining table.”
演员工会纽约分部的会长Sam Freed说“我认为推迟谈判一点价值都没有，我们正在处理重要的事情，我们早就应该坐在谈判桌上了。”

SAG is currently the only Hollywood union not to have a new contract.
目前演员工会是好莱坞唯一没有新合同的组织。
