1.Defendant 被告

A: If I accuse you of something, you become the defendant, right?
B: Right. And you are called the plaintiff.

A：如果我指控你，你就变成了被告，对吗？
B：是的，那你就叫做原告。

2.Execution 执行死刑

A: I saw on the TV of a death penalty execution yesterday.
B: I hate to see those kinds of things.

A：我昨天在电视上看到了执行死刑。
B：我不愿意看那种事情。

3.DA（District Attorney） 公诉人
A: What is the District Attorney?
B: A DA represents the government in a case.

A：公诉人是什么人？
B：公诉人在法庭上代表政府。

4.Law firm 律师事务所

A: How do you select a law firm?
B: You don't select a law firm. You select a lawyer in most case.

A：你如何选择律师事务所？
B：大多数情况下不是选择律师事务所，而是选择律师。

5.Sentence 宣判

A: When you get a cancer, isn't that like being sentenced to death?
B: Not really. Many cancer patients are still living well.

A：如果得了癌症是不是就意味着判了死刑？
B：也不完全是，许多癌症患者都活得好好的。
